make your own ice lollies

Looking for a way to cool down on a hot day, but don’t fancy cuddling an ice block or attaching a fan to your head? Not to worry – we’ve got a tastier fix.

you’ll need:

for the moulds

yoghurt pots, paper cups, a muffin tray or ice lolly moulds from the shop

for the lollies

juice, smoothie, chunks of fruit, yoghurt, granola, or anything else you fancy

Step 1

Mix or blend your ingredients together. If you’re using a homemade mould, you’ll need a thicker mixture to help your sticks stand upright.

Step 2

Pour the mixture evenly into your ice lolly moulds.

Step 3

If you’re using a homemade mould, pop your sticks upright in the middle of each one.

Step 4

Put them in the freezer and leave them for a few hours, or until they’re completely frozen.

Gently take them out of their moulds, find a deck chair and some shade and get stuck in.

PS Try not to get brain-freeze.

Top tip: We’ll let you in on a secret – you can skip all those steps and stick one of our kids smoothies or juices in the freezer. Leave it for a few hours, snip off the top and you’ve got yourself an innocent ice lolly. Bon appétit.
