thickie cupcakes

The lovely Alice made some delicious cupcakes from our thickies, especially for our AGM the other week.

We've had lots of requests on how to make them, so here's her recipe for the raspberry and white chocolate ones.

Raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes (makes 12 cupcakes)

Ingredients that you'll need:

100g unsalted butter
300g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
100g caster sugar
2 large free range eggs
200ml innocent yoghurt, oats, raspberries and blueberries thickie
150g raspberries
150g white chocolate, chopped into chunks
50ml milk

1 excellent baker and a tidy kitchen.

What you need to do:

1. Preheat the oven to 200C/Gas Mark 6. Melt the butter in a saucepan and leave it to cool (or heat it up quickly in a bowl in the microwave if you're pushed for time.)

2. Sieve the flour and baking powder into a large bowl and add the caster sugar and a pinch of salt.

3. Put the eggs into another bowl and beat them together.

4. Then add the thickie and mix well.

5. Next, add the eggy thickie mixture to the floury mixture and fold them together gently. Then add the melted butter and mix a bit more.

6. When the mixture starts to come together, add half the milk and fold in the raspberries and white chocolate. You might need to add some more milk. Don't overmix it though - it's meant to be a bit lumpy.

7. Divide the mixture between 12 muffin cases and bake in the oven for about 25 minutes.

8. Try not to drop them on the way to the oven.

9. Do the washing up while you're waiting.

10. And when the cakes are golden on top, take them out the oven, cool on a wire rack and then find someone nice to share them with.

how do you buy your towels?

By the kilo, of course.

Thanks to Gav for sending us this photo from Brazil. If you come across any other interesting offers like this on your travels, send us a photo and we'll share them with everyone.

the first few AGM questionnaires

We've just started to get the first few AGM questionnaires coming into our flickr group. As you can only see some of them if you're logged into flickr we thought we'd share them here as well.

Keep an eye on our jobs page Jenny.

A definite contender for the best fruit drawing by Jess.

How to make a boring questionnaire less boring by Katherine.

Very nicely colour coordinated background and writing here. More yoghurty news coming very soon Lucy.

There are more trees coming very, very soon Sandra don't worry.

Congratulations on finishing your dissertation Sophie. Great choice in fruit with the Mangosteen, it's our Ceri's favourite as well (those of you not in the know have a look here).

Please keep the questionnaires coming, there are drinks related prizes for the best fruit drawing, best suggestion and best overall questionnaire.

If you're pushed for time though we have just set up an online version of exactly the same questionnaire so everyone can have their say.

the ninja carrot strikes back

You may remember a while ago that we ran a competition for odd shaped fruit and veg and this excellent ninja carrot was one of the three winners

Well, the lady who sent the photo in has only just got back in contact to claim her prize.

Angelika currently lives in Germany and hadn't realised our drinks were now available there. So she very sweetly had asked for her prize of smoothies to be sent to her friends in Ireland instead.

However, our Brigitte in Hamburg was having none of that and a case of our finest smoothies are now winging their way to Angelika and her fiesty carrot.

Angelika also kindly sent another photo of what the carrot has been up to since we last saw it.

We're not quite sure if it's trying to attack the tasty looking sandwich or use it as a getaway vehicle.

But either way, it is clearly not a root vegetable to be messed with.

answer b & inflatable crocodiles

A little while ago Gav had an idea for a competition. Like all good competitions it had a deadline and that deadline was today.

So here is the official answer to the competition question (to prove we didn't cheat).

And here is the winner: Paul C who sent in a lovely bit of wallpaper and guessed B correctly.

Oh and Gav is leaving us today to go and discover the world, starting with Brixton Academy tonight. Have a great time Gav, don't forget to pack an inflatable crocodile, just in case.
