Please say hello to our first ever smoothie of the month.

We used to make a seasonal recipe, but that meant we could only change things four times a year. Not nearly enough considering the amount of tasty fruit that exists in the world. So here's the first in a long line of ever changing monthly recipes.

We begin with a detox recipe for the New Year - packed full of the good stuff that nature has to offer. Beetroot to help cleanse the liver (fairly necessary we think you'll find), pears for sweetness and fibre, and apples and ginger because we like them. OK, so you'll soon be back on the beer and crisps, but for now savour the taste of good health in a bottle.

2 pressedapples 250ml bottles  
half a crushedpear
half a crushed banana
some freshly squeezed orange juice
some tastybeetroot juice
and some lovely fresh ginger
