strawberry strawberry

Strawberries are known as Luleshtrydhe in Albania, Ichigo in Japan and Isitrobheli in Zulu. They are often found on posh people's silver spoons at the All England Lawn Tennis Championships, which takes place every June in Wimbledon. Unposh people prefer to put them on their toast in the form of jam. The Beatles wrote a song about them, and a band called Strawberry Switchblade made a record some time in the mid 1980s which nobody can remember.

Davro: keen angler and strawberry fan

the strawberry fayre

Continuing with the musical theme, the quaint town of Cambridge, England plays host to The Strawberry Fayre every year. It originally started as some sort of medieval chicken-selling festival, but graduated to a celebration of strawberries after a shortage of chickens in 1737. It now provides a meeting point for those pursuing alternative lifestyles and wearing ex-Canadian Army combat boots.

Ginger haired people often refer to themselves as 'strawberry blonde' in an effort to destigmatise their natural tint, but everyone still calls them ginger. Strawberries are the favourite fruit of Bobby Davro, Shaznay from All Saints and Brooke Shields. John Reid is the present Foreign Secretary and has no berries.
