So after putting the finishing touches to your CV and completing our online application form you hit send and wait with anticipation to hear whether you have been successful. If you are, then we will ask you to pop into Fruit Towers for a smoothie. The question is what to expect?
Firstly, it might be useful to know that we dress casually. It varies from smart casual to downright scruffy so we don’t expect everyone to come in their Sunday best and we would prefer that you come wearing what ever is most comfortable for you. Suit, jeans, shorts, tutu – whatever you fancy. While you're preparing yourself why not have a look at our faq's as well.
We normally have three rounds of interview:
Round 1.
At the first round you can expect to meet the person that would be your line manager. They will want to hear about your relevant experience and will test the capabilities that you need to excel in the role you are being interviewed for. They’re also going to be interested in the core attributes that really make people a success at innocent. Stuff like this:
• what do you understand about us and what we stand for
• when you have shown real initiative and made things happen
• how do you solve problems and structure your thinking (these are the really fun questions)
• what makes you tick, your career aspirations and where you went on holiday.
Round 2.
At the second round things are heating up.
You will normally be set a business challenge that is relevant to your area of the business; for example it could be a role play with our Commercial Director pretending to be a buyer. Alternatively you could be delivering a presentation on your insights from some data that we asked you to look at or you might have to write a label for one of our bottles.
You may also meet with someone from our people team who will be keen to find out a bit more about you and your strengths, what makes you get up in the morning and where you have really made a difference
Round 3.
If it was warming up at the second round then things are getting really exciting now. You will meet with other people who you may be working closely with as well as one of the Chief Squeezers (that’s our board directors if you want to get all formal). This is your final opportunity to shine and also to ask all of your burning questions.
Interview tips
Here are a few useful pointers to help along the way
- We are a simple bunch here, so we love it when people keep their answers concise and clear
- Remember that interviews are a two way process, so we like it if you have lots of questions or challenge our thinking
- Think about the 5 questions you are most likely to get asked and put some thought into how you might answer them
- Relax – we’re pretty nice really, we don’t want to trick you and we always want people to shine and do well at interview
- Print out this map so you don't get lost
- Write down our bananaphone number in case you do
- Leave plenty of time to walk from the station (it's a good 15 minutes from Hammersmith)
- Remember who to ask for when you get to reception
- Enjoy the free smoothies
- Avoid too much garlic for breakfast and stay away from fizzy drinks that may lead to excess gas ‘popping up’ to say hello. We love nature, but not that much
