bad samba

Picture_003_1

After work yesterday, some of us got together for drum club. The idea is that we learn a tune on the samba drums then play it on stage at fruitstock. It was only our second practice and while we're doing OK at connecting stick with drum and making lots of noise, we're still not too hot at banging in time with each other. Our instructor, Barak, is pretty patient, but I don't think this is going to be the easiest gig he's ever had.

best soft drink in the world ever

Well, not quite. But our mangoes, coconuts and lemongrass smoothie has just won the Best Soft Drink award at the Q Awards (the foodie Oscars). It's the fifth year running that one of our recipes has won, and as you can imagine, we are stoked/chuffed/as happy as Larry.

Nikki invented this recipe (thanks Nikki). It was only on the shelves for a few weeks earlier this year as one of our guest recipes. Guess we'd better think about bringing it back.

bingo bonus

You might thing we'd tire of talking about our summer bingo card. But no. There's more. First off, we are honoured to announce that it featured in the 'Going Up' section of the Daily Mail today. It's officially hip, alongside camo tents and eco-travelling. Apparently Cristal champagne and holidaying abroad are 'Going Down'. You have been warned.

Russell posted some great pictures from a sunny weekend at the seaside on the Flickr bingo group. His photos are better than the ones on the bingo card itself. Very embarrassing.

And finally, we're getting ready to unleash the bingo card properly in the next couple of weeks. About one million of the little blighters will be appearing in newspapers very soon. Make sure the paperboy doesn't pinch yours.

on the road

Yup, he's got the look - ice white legs, the classic men's sandal and a beard that says I'm on a three month holiday and no-one's going to stop me. Say hello to Conor, the favourite son of Fruit Towers, who left the company last week to return to his home in Oz, via a three month cycling holiday across Europe. Conor is modelling the latest in urban transport chic, and is outside Grass Towers, our innocent office in Amsterdam, where he called in to stock up on provisions before heading off into the great beyond. Ride safe mon ami, and stay true.

we are 100

We just got a bit bigger. Heather arrived on Monday without quite knowing that she'd be so special, but she's our 100th full time employee. There was a posh lunch out in the garden to celebrate reaching three digits - Rich stood on the table and did a speech, and Heather is at the front wearing a black vest.
