pole vault ponderings
Athletes started arriving for the London 2012 Olympic Games this week and it got us wondering, how do pole vaulters carry their massive poles around? We're assuming they like using their own poles rather than borrowing them from Poles R Us. Are they retractable, like chimney brushes? Are they classed as hand luggage on the plane? Do taxi rides look a little bit like this? If you happen to come across someone clad in lycra on the Jubilee line in rush hour with a 17 foot pole in tow, do let us know.
