We've decided that little woolly hats look just as good with or without bobbles. So we're not going to be sending out any bobbles this year. If you want to make or buy your own to attach to your hat then that's great, but bobbles aren't a necessity. It's totally up to you.


This year we've set ourselves a massive target of over 650,000 hats. It's a big challenge, but we know you're up to it.


For every behatted smoothie sold in Sainsburys and Boots stores, 25p will be given to Age UK to help them make winter warmer for people across the UK . If we meet our target of 650,000 knitted hats this year, that will mean £162,500 for Age UK which is enough to give you an instant warm glow.


The hats will be on our smoothies for three weeks in Sainsbury's stores from 2nd November, and Boots stores from 9th November.


It's really easy to get your friends involved.

We've made a special pack for you to download right here which has everything you need to get your friends round for a good old knit in, like posters, hatometers and invites.

All you need to do is set the date, buy some biscuits and get an extra large teapot in. We'd love to hear all your stories and see any photos you happen to take of your knitting party. You can send them all to thebigknit@innocentdrinks.co.uk and we'll make sure to get them onto our Flickr group and our Knitter Natter blog.


If you have hats from last year and you're not using them as egg cosies/canary hats, then why not send them back to us so we can reuse them for this year's Big Knit. After all, every hat means another 25p to Age UK.
